Alumni Engagement Program (AEP)
The seventh edition of the Alumni Engagement Program (AEP) on “Pricing Decisions – Strategic Cost Perspectives” was held in a hybrid mode on July 22, 2024. This edition continued its streak of delivering highly engaging and informative learning experiences for enthusiastic learners from the alumni community.
Dr. V. Thilagam, Associate Professor, PSGIM, delved into the complexities of cost and pricing strategies, which prompted an exchange of ideas among the alumni. In the session, active attendees sought to deepen their understanding of the subject and were eager to apply the concepts to solve real-world problems.
The latest eighth edition of AEP, held on August 27, 2024, in a hybrid mode, focused on “Leveraging Design Thinking for Competitive Advantage.”
Dr. B. Uma Maheswari, Associate Professor, PSGIM, delivered an informative session that decoded design thinking and its application in organizations. Through actionable frameworks and tools, participants gained valuable insights into implementing design thinking to drive innovation and success.
The ninth AEP edition on, “Blockchain for MSMEs: A Game Changer” by Dr. D. Kavitha, Associate Professor, PSGIM, explored blockchain’s economic potential and job creation capabilities. In addition to foundational knowledge, the session highlighted practical applications, such as cryptocurrency, smart contracts, and supply chain management with real-life case studies. The session emphasized how MSMEs can adopt blockchain technology for functions like payment processing, inventory management, and fraud prevention, sparking engagement among the participants.
The tenth edition, held on October 25, 2024, focused on “Smarter Workdays: Reduce Your Workload with AI.” Dr. S. Narendra Rathnaraj, Assistant Professor (Sr. Gr), PSGIM, guided participants on leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot to automate tasks, analyze data, and enhance productivity.
On November 28, 2024, Dr. R Sujatha, Associate Professor, PSGIM led a session on “Empowering MSMEs with Digital Twin Technology” with a focus on key technical considerations for developing and deploying digital twins in MSMEs, offering practical guidance for implementation. She also shared compelling use cases demonstrating the application of digital twin technology in industries such as machine tools, service engineering, and agri-food businesses.
The Alumni Engagement Program (AEP) celebrated learning and networking in its eleventh and twelfth editions, which brought together alumni and faculty for a valuable exchange of insights.
On December 27, the twelfth edition of the Alumni Engagement Program (AEP), on the theme, “Living in the Age of Intelligent Transformation: Preparing for the Future,” was held, with resource expert, Dr. V. Harish, Assistant Professor (Sl.Gr), PSGIM.
